NOTE FROM MARY: I have found calcium an essential part of my own weight loss regimen, and take as much as 2000 mg a day. I prefer to take a calcium/magnesium supplement, and have found a NOW formulation that also has much-needed Vitamin D, plus zinc, which is particularly good for the thyroid. (I also particularly like the NOW formulation because it's in a softgel. Big chalky calcium tablets tend to get stuck in my throat, so the softgels are MUCH easier for me to take. I like to take 1 or 2 softgels with each meal.) I get most of my vitamin and supplement products from Iherb.com, a reputable, low-cost online seller of various natural health products.
