Ann Louise Signature Foods
I had the pleasure of meeting Ann Louise Gittleman for dinner several years ago, right before her Fat Flush diet book was about to become a phenomenal bestseller. She is a smart and very committed advocate for good health, and good nutrition. I was impressed with her energy, enthusiasm, and terrific ideas! But believe me, even though she's quite slim, Ann Louise loves good food. She was definitely NOT one of those people who is satisfied on celery sticks and a diet soda!
So when I learned that Ann Louise was coming out with a line of foods, I knew they were going to be special, and that is absolutely true! She has put her heart and soul into launching her line of foods. Her "Ann Louise Signature Foods" are all guaranteed to be free of refined sugars, artificial sweeteners, trans fats, gluten, unfermented soy, yeast, antibiotics, pesticides, preservatives and genetically modified organisms (GMOs). But beyond all these wonderful, healthy benefits, the best thing is that they really do taste great.
Classic Salsa --
My absolute favorite of Ann Louise's foods is the salsa. It's on the spicy side (which I love!) and filled with chunky vegetables. It's low-cal, low-carb, great for dipping, or as topping on eggs, fish, chicken or meat. I lived in Texas, I've traveled in Mexico, and so I feel like I know salsa.
This is without a doubt the best salsa I've ever tasted!
Salad Dressings --
Ann Louise's salad dressings are really amazing, and they're a great way to incorporate healthy organic flaxseed into your diet. Flaxseed is a natural anti-inflammatory, that's great for thyroid patients. The dressings also include olive oils and apple cider vinegar, and feature distinct ingredients and flavors.
The Asian Cranberry Salad Dressing has a bit of a sweet Asian feeling. Herbes de Provence Vinaigrette is a creamy vinaigrette Italian. Dijon & Honey is sweet, with a bit of Dijon spice. My favorite is the Rio Grande French Salad Dressing, which has tomatoes, and some southwestern spices.
Snack Bars -- Ann Louise's snack bars come in two flavors, Cherry Cashew Delite and Cranberry Apple Treat. They're made with whey protein (no soy!), real fruit, nuts, and seeds. My children absolutely love them -- especially the cranberry apple! (And I am happier to give them an Ann Louise bar, rather than a fat-filled granola bar, or candy!)
