"Because my T3 disorder wasn't diagnosed for years, by the time it was, I was pretty devastated. I had exploded from a stable, healthy, 135lb. college athlete, all type A+ headed to law school to a very physically and mentally ill 420lb. Bipolar (in 8 years time). Yes, my family physician thought I was hypothyroid, but that TSH kept coming back 4.5. Finally, I had the fortitude to find a psychiatrist (for the Bipolar) that was smart enough to run the full thyroid panel. I had been hospitalized twice in 5 years for suicidal ideation and I felt like a used up, worn down 80 year old rag doll. I honestly just wanted to lay down and stop breathing and die. Dr. Aznaurova was a huge part of bringing me back to life. I am still medicated, I won't lie. Although, it could be worse! I am very stable, and I feel 17 again. Best, I am down 200 lbs in 2 years. I am just over 200 pounds now, but I am alive, living, not psycho, not living with all the myriad of strange hypothyroid symptoms, nor battling the losing fight against bipolar disorder. Because we moved from Florida to Kansas City, she is the 3rd GREAT doctor I have been fortunate enough to be blessed with in my life." (May 2008)

"I have been seeing Dr. Sager for about 2 1/2 years.WOW what a difference. I was diagnosed w/ Hypothyroid in 1985 and had been trying to get someone to understand that my synthroid was not working.My symptoms grew worse and I was still fighting. The test showed I was in the normal range,so I should be fine.(haha) Different doctors wanted to treat the symptom (depression and others)On its own and not treat the cause of the symptom because again my test showed normal. I was referred to Dr.Sager by a friend and he had not only my TSH tested but also my Free T3 and Free T4 and tested me for antibodies. The last three tests had never been done on me even with me begging. Also Dr.Sager has my symptoms high on his priority list. I have two brothers and two sisters and my mother who are all in need of finding a Doctor like doctor Sager so they can begin to live a normal life. They have all been fighting with their doctors to run the right tests and listen to their symptoms and they turn a blind eye to their requests. Last but not least I would recommend Dr. Bob Sager to anyone and have to everyone I know." (Added October 2007)

"She is great!" says one reader, "She takes the time to listen to your complaints and questions. You don't feel like she's trying to push you out the door, she actually makes the time to talk to you until you're done talking (rather than until they're done listening). She is also a very compassionate doctor. The first time I went to her and described my symptoms she said "You're an interesting case." I told her I didn't want to be interesting and she said "Well, we're going to see what we can do to make you more boring." Not once did she mention depression or anxiety. She felt my throat and sent me off to a sonogram and a surgeon because it didn't feel right to her. My old doc felt it, and just said "Yep, it's enlarged". Dr. Gorman did more for me in two hours than my old doc has in 7 years! She's a family practitioner, not an endocrinologist, but she's been a BIG help to me. It seems like she understands just how horrible it is to feel sick all the time and actually wants to do something to make you better. She's also the first doc I've ever seen who calls you HERSELF to discuss test results."

He carefully and adeptly removed my cancerous thyroid without damaging my voice. He was wonderful as a follow-up doctor as well, always taking the time to answer my questions. He was extremely patient with me when I came to appointments with a notebook full of questions, and recognizing that a cancer diagnosis is always a scary thing, was careful to address all of my concerns as fully as possible. I do not believe you could find a better thyroid surgeon in Wichita than Dr. Lancaster."

"I was diagnosed with a Pituitary Adenoma, and was referred to Dr. Michael for further testing and consultation. In short, he was direct, calm, reassuring, and seemed to cover every base he could. Also, he referred me to a neurologist, because the MRI showed I have a venous angioma. And he ordered film of the MRIs because he wanted to see them for himself. I have a second appointment on January 15 to undergo an ITT. I look forward to speaking with him again, to get his latest read. Oh, one fun/encouraging/reassuring thing he said: When my husband and I walked in to his office, he said, "it's benign; you're not going to die yet." It was perfect. "I've been seeing Dr. Brian Michael since he came to Kansas as few years ago. I have seen several endocrinologists for thyroid and other disorders since I was 18.
